PETE MITCHELL

Pete's passion for golf blossomed on the sun-drenched fairways of Florida. A standout athlete at Coral Gables HS, Pete earned a coveted scholarship to play at Florida State University, one of the nation's premier collegiate golf programs. There, he honed his skills under the tutelage of Coach Lanford, competing fiercely in the Division I arena.

Following graduation, Pete turned professional and began a playing career. Playing in professional events throughout America, he saw success through hard work and dedication. With a low tournament round of 61 and 13 professional wins his experience in tournament play was cemented.

Pete's desire to stay connected to the world of golf led him to manage golf courses in both Florida and Colorado. These experiences offered invaluable insights into the operational and business aspects of the game, further enriching his understanding of the sport.

For the past 14 years, Pete has dedicated his career to sharing his knowledge and love for golf with others. This journey has seen him mentored by some of the game's top instructors; Phil Ritson, Paul Wilson, Tom Stickney and Brian Mogg, absorbing their wisdom and refining his own teaching techniques. Today, Pete brings a unique blend of collegiate-level playing experience, course management expertise, and top-tier mentorship to his teaching. He is known for creating personalized programs that cater to each student's individual needs and aspirations, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment where every swing is a step towards achieving golfing goals.

Whether it's helping beginners break 100 or guiding seasoned players to shave strokes off their score, Pete approaches each lesson with the same infectious enthusiasm and unwavering commitment that first propelled him onto the collegiate greens. His journey is a testament to the transformative power of golf, and his dedication to instruction ensures that the passion for the game continues to thrive in a new generation of golfers.

teaching philosophy

We teach the Benefits of a Body-Powered Swing

Effortless Power: By utilizing your core and larger muscle groups, you generate more power with less effort, reducing strain and fatigue. Say goodbye to swing-related aches and pains!

Consistency: A swing driven by your body's natural mechanics is inherently more repeatable, leading to tighter shot dispersion and lower scores. No more wild hooks and slices!

Longevity: This swing protects your joints and muscles, promoting long-term golfing enjoyment. No early retirement due to injuries! Key Elements of the

Philosophy: Focus on Feel, Not Mechanics: Ditch the technical jargon and robotic drills. Instead, we'll cultivate a feel for the proper movement through simple, effective exercises.

Master the Rotation: Your hips and torso are the engine of the swing. Learn to turn them efficiently and sequentially to create a powerful coil and release.

Let Gravity Do the Work: Don't fight gravity, use it to your advantage. Learn how to transfer your weight smoothly throughout the swing, letting gravity pull the club down into the ball.

Develop Lag: Create a separation between your upper and lower body during the downswing. This "lag" stores and releases energy for an explosive impact. Swing Easy, Swing Free: Relax and trust your body's natural instincts. Eliminate tension and let the swing flow freely.

Remember: It's not about how hard you hit the ball, it's about how effectively you transfer energy. Embrace the effortless power within you, and watch your game soar to new heights.

 FAQs

  • The first lesson always starts off the same way, no matter skill level. We work on your grip and posture. Then we work backwards; starting with your follow through first.

  • This depends upon the golfer and how quickly they can incorporate the things we work on. Some golfers learn quicker or slower than others. There is no quick fix in becoming a better golfer. After your first lesson we can evaluate how often it is good for you to have a lesson.

  • We cater to all skill levels. We teach everyone from total beginners to professionals. Lessons are catered to your individual skill level.

  • As long as you work diligently on the things we go over, your golf game will improve.

  • We want the bigger muscles to be used during a golf swing. Your body should be used versus just using hands and arms to power the golf swing. The swing should be powerful and effortless. This makes your swing last long into the future and most importantly pain free.
